University of Iowa's Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) seeks a Constituent Relations Coordinator to advance IMU visibility, partners, and programming. You will lead the Welcome Center, build campus/community partnerships, and plan events that connect students, staff, alumni, and visitors to IMU services.

The role involves developing outreach, coordinating tours, managing data, and overseeing budgets while supporting student success and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Typically 1-3 years of experience in outreach, sales, relationship management, hospitality, program coordination, customer service, or a related area.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and operational priorities.
  • Experience promoting venues, services, programs, or other offerings to campus, business, nonprofit, or community audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop outreach messaging — Create clear, audience-focused communication that positions the IMU as a premier destination for meetings, celebrations, conferences, and campus engagement.
  • Produce outreach materials — Build and maintain presentations, tours, promotional content, and follow-up communications for campus and community partners.
  • Cultivate partnerships — Build and sustain relationships with university departments, student organizations, alumni, nonprofits, businesses, and community groups.
  • Identify engagement opportunities — Proactively seek and pursue opportunities to introduce partners to IMU event spaces, services, and programs.
  • Represent the IMU externally — Serve as an IMU ambassador through site visits, presentations, networking events, community meetings, tradeshows, and conferences.
  • Coordinate tours and events — Plan and host tours, open houses, and relationship-building activities that showcase IMU spaces and services.
  • Manage outreach data — Track outreach activity, leads, referrals, and participation; maintain accurate records and prepare routine reports.
  • Plan internal IMU programs — Lead planning and implementation of IMU programs such as Finals@IMU, Open House, Homecoming activities, and engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee Welcome Center operations — Provide daily leadership for the Welcome Center, including service standards, staffing, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets and transactions — Develop and monitor budgets; process purchasing, invoices, deposits, and financial transactions in alignment with university policy.
