The National Audubon Society is seeking a temporary Engagement Coordinator to assist with volunteer engagement and support conservation efforts across the Great Lakes region. This position will work closely with chapters and partner organizations to implement outreach strategies while building community connections. Ideal candidates will have a background in social sciences or ecology, along with relevant experience in event planning and volunteer management.
The Engagement Coordinator (Temporary) will work closely with the Great Lakes chapter and volunteer network (including stewards, monitors, chapters, and partner organizations) to assist the Engagement Manager with the implementation of volunteer strategies as a key component to sustainable Great Lakes habitat conservation across Audubon's priority geographies. They will directly engage and communicate, remotely or in-person, with chapters and volunteers supporting conservation efforts across the five-state region including IL, IN, MI, OH, and WI. This position will play a critical role in growing chapter and volunteer engagement with Audubon’s conservation across the Great Lakes region by reaching broader audiences and building community connections through network activities.
The Engagement Coordinator will assist the Engagement Manager and collaborate cross-functionally with the Conservation Team, Communications Team, as well as Policy Team in connecting chapters and volunteers to habitat restoration, conservation science, and advocacy efforts across priority Great Lakes geographies. The Engagement Coordinator will primarily focus on program management support that includes community science, advocacy, and network activities to uplift the work of the Great Lakes chapters and volunteers. The Engagement Coordinator will work closely with fellow Engagement team members to support the Audubon network of chapters and members to build their capacity and connect to conservation priorities in the region. This role does not require travel.

Location: Remote, required to be based in the Great Lakes Region: IL, IN, MI, OH, WI
Compensation:
$17.00-$19.00 / hour = National
$19.00 – 21.00/ hour = (not San Francisco), Connecticut, D.C., Chicago, Oyster Bay, NY
