Job summary

South Central Human Resource Agency seeks an Early Childhood Assistant to organize classroom space and deliver developmentally appropriate activities. You will guide children, prepare materials, and support health and safety practices daily, including family engagement through home visits and conferences.

The role requires strong recordkeeping, collaboration with staff, and adherence to licensing standards and Head Start policies. Training and growth are encouraged within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDA certification is required within one year of hire.
• AA degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field is preferred.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with children in the classroom and playground as participant or watcher.
• Enter and review documentation into the system according to the program calendar and procedures.
• Complete daily health checks and follow-up documentation.
• Submit accident reports within required timeframe.
• Develop lesson plans reflecting individual, small and large groups including IEP goals.
• Ensure classroom activities align with lesson plans and reflect planning.
