Job summary

Ucsvt is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support daily classroom activities and help create a welcoming learning environment for children. You will assist the Teacher, supervise groups, and help with routines and materials.

Roles include family engagement, recordkeeping, and assisting during field trips and bus rides, with opportunities to demonstrate care and teamwork in a Head Start setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Possession of CDA or AA in ECE or enrollment in CDA/AA program within 2 years.
• OHS requirements observed for credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise play activities and participate in classroom activities as directed.
• Observe, record, and report children's behavior and progress.
• Assist with self-care routines and provide aid during difficult moments.
• Support family engagement and involve parents in activities and projects.
• Maintain classroom materials and assist with daily transitions.
• Assist in bus supervision and supervise on field trips when needed.
• Maintain attendance and notes for daily observations in required records.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education

Enrolled in CDA/AA within 2 years
