As a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer II, you will play a key role in advancing our test capabilities and manufacturing performance. You will take ownership of complex test systems, drive technical solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes that ensure every Axcelis product meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, validation, and optimization of electrical and mechanical test solutions used in Axcelis manufacturing operations. You will work independently on complex problems while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define test strategies, improve coverage, and enhance system performance.
You will drive initiatives that improve product reliability, reduce cycle time, and increase throughput—directly impacting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This position requires strong technical depth across multiple disciplines, including electronics, mechanical design, automation, instrumentation, and data analysis, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system‑level issues.
U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE: $116,331.60 – $174,497.40
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and a comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
