Job summary

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find an Energy & Utilities Laboratory Technician to work for initially One-Year contract in Theodore, Alabama. Work Schedule: 5/40 – 12h/day (5am to 5pm) Job Type: W2 contract (One Year with possibility for extension).

Responsibilities include analysing and documenting routine samples, interpreting results, maintaining and calibrating instrumentation, data entry into SAP and spreadsheets, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and ISO

Qualifications

• Analyses and documents routine samples from production and on-site customers.
• Interprets and evaluates results before reporting to production.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory instrumentation.
• Validates instruments by use of references and standards.
• Data entry into SAP and spreadsheets.
• Reviews SOPs and maintains ISO documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing as required.
• Interface with production and engineering teams to communicate analytical results.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area and dry storeroom.
• Participate in 5S programs and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist training procedures for new technicians.

Requirements

• Analyse and document routine samples from production and on-site customers.
• Interpret and evaluate results before reporting to production.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory instrumentation, including inline and portable/hand-held instruments.
• Validate instruments by use of references and standards.
• Data entry into spreadsheet and SAP system.
• Review and follow written SOPs while assisting in maintaining all ISO documentation.
• Help ensure training procedures are up-to-date.
• Maintain dry storeroom (supplies).
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Participate in 5S programs and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Safety – Attend safety meetings, comply with site EHSSQ goals and regulations.
• Hours – Twelve-hour rotating day shifts with built in PTO coverage for other shift technicians.
• Training – Assist in OJT for new technicians.
• Maintain DMRQ certification.
• Coordinate, set-up, and perform whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing on vertebrate and invertebrate species as required.
• This position will interface with production and engineering teams.
• Applicants will be required to communicate analytical results.
• This position requires frequent use of a company watercraft to collect samples.
• This requires the candidate to obtain and maintain watercraft certification and demonstrate safe operation and maintenance of watercraft and associated analytical instruments.
