Job summary

Sirius Staffing is hiring a QC Lab Technician for a contract position in Theodore, AL. The role involves performing laboratory testing to evaluate materials, coordinating sample analysis, and supporting QA and process control.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Biology or related field, or HS diploma with 3+ years lab/industrial experience.
• Experience with GC and LabWorks LIMS required.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 and QA practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic IT systems.

Sirius Staffing is hiring a QC Lab Technician for a contract position in Theodore, AL.

Shift Schedule

Day shift only (4:00 AM – 4:00 PM), rotating 2-week

• Week 1: Work Mon/Tue, Off Wed/Thu, Work Fri/Sat/Sun

The QC Lab Tech will p erform laboratory testing in accordance with prescribed standards to evaluate the physical and chemical characteristics of solid, liquid, and gaseous materials. Support quality assurance, process control, environmental compliance, and product development operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Sample Analysis: Coordinate, prepare, and analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples to determine disposition against MMP Unit quality standards and standard operating procedures.
• Sample Handling & Safety: Safely collect, deliver, and dispose of MMP Unit process samples while utilizing a full-face respirator.
• Instrument Maintenance: Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and online analyzers.
• Data Integrity & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all analyses and complete daily Continuous Monitoring System (CMS) checks.
• Operational Support: Support the Laboratory Resource and adapt to operational requirements across the laboratory and manufacturing units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline; OR
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) combined with at least 3 years of hands‑on laboratory, Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E), or relevant industrial experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) and LabWorks LIMS.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation and routine maintenance.
• Working knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer systems.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to interface effectively with laboratory leadership and plant production personnel.

Physical & Operational Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear a respirator when needed (full‑face respirator).
