Job summary

1898 & Co., a Burns & McDonnell company in Denver, seeks an Energy & Utilities Analyst to support power system studies for fossil and renewable generation and assist with technical and economic analyses for utility projects.

You will work under supervision to analyze life-cycle costs, develop technical assumptions, and prepare reports and client presentations for energy infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related accredited program.
• Basic knowledge in standard engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, interprets, and applies engineering, financial, and economic conditions to client projects.
• Assists with power system studies including power flow, transient, stability, short circuit, and reliability.
• Supports development of technical reports and client presentations summarizing results of analysis.
• Assists with life-cycle cost analyses by developing and incorporating technical assumptions regarding costs and forecasts.
• Supports regulatory impact assessments and design reviews for project requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports the Busin ess lines as needed.
