Job summary

UNSW invites applications for a Lecturer in Electrical Energy Systems and Power Engineering. The role combines teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs with supervising Honours and postgraduate projects.

You will contribute to course administration, academic quality assurance, and develop interdisciplinary research across telecommunications, control systems, signal processing and microelectronics.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Active engagement with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated teaching and learning design/delivery at undergrad/postgrad level in power systems/electrical energy engineering.
  • Demonstrated track record in power systems research with high impact.
  • Evidence of research excellence and potential for leadership.
  • Experience with educational technologies and online delivery.
  • Proven teaching effectiveness and curriculum development across levels.
  • Desirable: experience with work-integrated learning.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion strategies.
  • Strong communication and networking abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and build relationships.
  • Understanding of UNSW aims, values, and policies.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Supervise Honours and postgraduate project students and contribute to course administration and quality assurance.
  • Undertake research in electrical energy systems and power engineering with industry and interdisciplinary collaborators.
  • Engage with industry and government to translate research into practice and knowledge exchange.
  • Contribute to the development of the next generation of engineers and researchers.
