Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Manager with Grid Integration to lead complex power systems and delivery projects across engineering, procurement, and construction.

You will manage schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder expectations while coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring safety and compliance. This role offers hybrid work arrangements and opportunities to expand expertise in project administration and procurement within the power industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management, or a related field with 8+ years of EPC PM experience.
  • Experience delivering EPC projects in power systems, substations, transmission or distribution.
  • Experience developing and managing project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and metrics.
  • Understanding of contracts, risk management, procurement, subcontracting, supplier coordination, and project delivery.
  • PMP certification is a plus; strong interpersonal, technical, and business skills.

  • Develop and manage project execution plans to meet project goals and customer expectations.
  • Maintain project schedules and coordinate updates for successful delivery.
  • Coordinate resource planning across internal teams and subcontracted partners.
  • Support safety planning and safe execution practices with project stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, cash flow, forecasts, and performance tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor risks and opportunities and implement actions to improve performance.
  • Report project status, progress, risks, and financial performance to customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and engineering for procurement planning, subcontracting, supplier engagement, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager with Grid Integration, you will play a key role in delivering complex power systems and power delivery projects that help maintain the reliability, safety, and performance of critical electrical infrastructure. In this role, you will manage projects across engineering, procurement, and construction activities, guiding projects from planning and execution through closeout while balancing schedule, cost, quality, and customer expectations. You will work closely with customers, supply chain teams, engineering professionals, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project execution, manage risks and opportunities, monitor progress, and support successful project outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to the safe delivery of energy infrastructure projects while helping customers achieve their operational goals. This position offers the opportunity to expand your experience across project management, contract administration, procurement coordination, financial oversight, customer engagement, and project execution within the power industry.

  • Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to support procurement planning, subcontracting activities, supplier engagement, and change order management.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management, or a related field with 8+ years of experience in large, complex EPC project management from initiation through execution and closeout.
  • Experience managing engineering, procurement and construction EPC projects delivering power systems, power delivery, utility, transmission, distribution, substation, or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience developing and managing project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and project performance metrics.
  • Understanding of project contracts, terms and conditions, and project-related risk management practices.
  • Experience working with procurement, subcontracting, supplier coordination, and project delivery stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, revenue forecasts, cash flow, earned value management systems (EVMS), and project performance reporting.
  • Experience delivering turnkey substation projects is an advantage; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, and business skills with the ability to collaborate, negotiate, solve complex problems, and support customer satisfaction.
