Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Construction Manager to lead site execution for complex power transmission, substation, HVDC, and grid projects. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise mobilization through completion, partnering with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

  • Work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in CM or related field.
  • 5+ years of construction management experience.
  • Experience in power/utility/EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
  • Develop and implement construction execution plans, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, and schedule performance with corrective actions.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and construction personnel for quality and on-time delivery.
  • Review drawings and contracts to address constructability and execution challenges.
  • Coordinate site mobilization, logistics, temporary facilities, and material management.
  • Manage change orders, risk mitigation, and project documentation.
  • Support commissioning and project closeout for handover.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.

The Opportunity

As a Construction Manager, you will play a key role in delivering complex power transmission, substation, HVDC, renewable energy, and grid integration projects. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing site construction activities from project mobilization through completion, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality, environmental, and contractual requirements. Working closely with project managers, engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and site personnel, you will help turn project plans into successful field execution. Your work will directly support the reliability, safety, and performance of critical energy infrastructure while contributing to the modernization and expansion of the power grid. In this role, you will gain exposure to large-scale grid projects, collaborate with experienced professionals across multiple disciplines, and help deliver solutions that support the evolving energy landscape.

Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably within power, utility, industrial, transmission, substation, or EPC projects.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and industry safety standards.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
