Job summary

Fervo Energy Co. in Houston, TX is seeking an Energy Associate to support scale-up by leading the development of processes and infrastructure for the powerplant engineering team.

You will work with engineers, strategists, and product-minded colleagues to understand pain points and professionalize the organization. This fast-paced strategy and operations role blends strategy, engineering, and product management with ownership from day one, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, energy policy, or STEM.
• 2-4+ years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, energy development, power markets, project finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical rigor, with comfort building and maintaining models, trackers, and processes.
• Comfort working with large datasets.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical material accurately.

Responsibilities

• Decision Quality: help make high quality data-driven decisions under ambiguity.
• Executive Communication: prepare clear, concise updates for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Financial Modeling: build and maintain financial models to support design decision-making with Strategy and Engineering teams.
• Strategy & Operations Support: coordinate with engineering leadership to establish frameworks and best practices.
• Process Improvement: identify knowledge gaps and develop tools, checklists, and references to continuously improve design and execution processes.
