Soluna is seeking an MBA Intern for Development & Strategy to help source and screen renewable-energy opportunities. You will evaluate power cost, interconnection status, land, and credibility, producing a one-page summary for each lead and recommending next steps.

This high-ownership internship sits on a small team that influences where Soluna builds next. You will build first-pass economic screens, test sensitivities, and pressure-test counterparty assumptions against market data.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program with expected graduation date following the internship period.
• Strong Excel modeling skills — comfortable building a screening model from a blank sheet.
• Demonstrated analytical judgment: ability to reach a defensible answer with incomplete information.
• Clear, concise written communication; able to compress a complicated opportunity for executives.
• Genuine interest in energy, digital infrastructure, or the intersection of the two.

Responsibilities

• Run inbound and sourced leads through Soluna's qualification framework, evaluating power cost, interconnection, land, fiber, water, and credibility.
• Produce a standard one-page qualification summary for each lead for quick go/no-go decisions.
• Recommend advance, park, or pass on opportunities with written reasoning.
• Maintain the lead intake queue so nothing sits unreviewed.
• Build first-pass economic screens with estimated power costs, capacity sizing, capex, and return.
• Run sensitivities on variables that move the answer (price, curtailment, hashprice, energization time).
• Pressure-test counterparty assumptions against market data and flag unsupported claims.
• Keep the screening model clean and reusable for post-internship use.
• Track opportunities across ERCOT, SPP, MISO, and PJM including interconnection queue and curtailment trends.
• Update the pipeline tracker and executive summary for leadership visibility.
• Research specific markets, utilities, or counterparties on demand.
• Present a summer project to leadership — durable improvement to Soluna's screening/ qualification.
