Job summary

FlexGen Power Systems, LLC. in Durham, NC seeks an Associate Project Manager to support the PMO by coordinating project activities, maintaining schedules, and promoting consistent execution across utility-scale BESS projects.

You will work with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to track milestones, risks, and action items, while supporting governance and reporting. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in project coordination, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in project coordination/scheduling, PMO support, or a related role.
• Ability to utilize AI-driven tools and workflows to streamline processes and improve performance.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of schedules, budgets, risk tracking, change control, and project reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with project management or reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and cross-team collaboration.
• Experience in BESS,Renewable energy, engineering, construction, or industrial projects preferred; CAPM certification is a plus.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10–20%

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities, track milestones and deliverables, and follow up on outstanding actions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain project schedules, risk and issue logs, change logs, and documentation for visibility.
• Prepare PMO dashboards, status reports, and presentations summarizing progress, financials, risks, and priorities.
• Coordinate project meetings and stage-gate reviews, preparing materials and tracking actions.
• Support standardized PMO processes, templates, reporting, and document management for consistency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Field Operations, and other teams to manage dependencies and delays.
• Assist with budget tracking, forecasting updates, and change-control documentation with PMs and Finance.
• Capture lessons learned and support PMO tool/workflow improvements.
