Job summary

Redwood Materials in Carson City, NV, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate for the Energy Storage program. The role involves hands-on PCB design, prototype build, and testing, working closely with engineers to advance the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

You will manage the electronics lab, assist with field tests of power equipment, and support mechanical engineers on a variety of technical tasks. On-site, full-time, compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Relevant coursework or certification in electronics fundamentals, circuit theory, or digital/analog systems.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and basic PCB layouts.
• Familiarity with hand soldering to IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001 workmanship standards, or willingness to be certified.
• Basic proficiency with lab equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply, function generator.
• Comfortable with basic hand tools and ESD-safe handling practices, as well as machinery and power equip.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage electronics component symbols and footprints for PCB designs using Altium CAD software.
• Hand-soldering and rework of PCB components, including fine-pitch parts, and connectors; cable harness assembly.
• Run functional/bring-up tests on new board revisions, flash firmware, verify power rails; bench-level troubleshooting of prototype and production boards.
• Manage electronics lab including equipment, purchasing, organization, maintenance, and ESD/safety compliance.
• Set up electrical test equipment for field testing at outdoor project sites.
