Peak Energy is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer Intern for Spring 2027 to support the design, development, and validation of electrical systems across energy storage platforms, from battery systems to power electronics. You will collaborate with design, firmware, and test teams to understand requirements and contribute to hardware development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Coursework or project experience in circuits, electronics, or power systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering first principles.
• Experience working with hardware in laboratory or project environments.
• Familiarity with common electrical lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies).
• Exposure to data processing or analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with clear communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive ownership mindset with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Support development and validation of electrical systems across energy storage products.
• Assist with schematic development, component selection, and electrical design activities.
• Support board bring-up, lab testing, and debugging of subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and improvement.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret electrical test data for decisions.
• Troubleshoot electrical and integration issues with lab equipment.
• Assist in development of test procedures and validation plans.
• Support prototype builds and rapid hardware iterations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests, and actions.
• Interface with design, firmware, simulation, and manufacturing partners.
• Drive rapid prototyping and automation culture.
• Demonstrate team spirit and a can-do attitude.
