Job summary

University of Michigan's Institute for Energy Solutions is seeking a full-time Project Manager to support a range of programs and projects advancing a sustainable energy future. You will report to the Managing Director and collaborate with faculty, a research specialist, and an administrative assistant.

Responsibilities include coordinating programs, planning events, and communications, with hybrid work options and occasional evening events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in energy-related STEM or social science.
• Knowledge of and interest in renewable energy.
• Minimum of three years of professional project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate within a distributed team and with external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IES programs and projects, including Living Learning Labs, PhD signing bonus program, research communities, and fellowships.
• Produce agendas, meeting notes, project timelines, and next steps; track deadlines and deliverables; provide status updates to the IES directors.
• Communicate with relevant stakeholders and participants.
• Lead planning and execution of the annual IES Symposium and other events during the year.
• Develop agendas, promotional and meeting materials.
• Draft and edit the monthly IES newsletter and assist in maintaining web resources.
