Job summary

W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company seeks an Energy Marshal to lead energy safety on a hyperscale data-center project.

You will oversee Lockout/Tagout programs, electrical isolation, and energization activities, ensuring compliance and site-wide safety. You will partner with electrical contractors, commissioning teams, clients, and subcontractors to safeguard personnel and equipment, perform risk assessments, audits, and investigations, and drive safe energization during commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• 4–6 years of direct experience managing energy safety processes, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience working on hyperscale data center construction projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage LOTO programs for the construction site.
• Oversee energy isolation procedures: de-energize and re-energize electrical systems to ensure a safe environment.
• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and reporting to ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the General Contractor, client representatives, electrical and mechanical subcontractors, and the commissioning team to ensure alignment on energy-related activities.
