Job summary

W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company seeks an Energy Marshal to supervise energy safety at a hyperscale data center construction site.

You will oversee Lockout/Tagout programs, energy isolation, and energization to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency across construction and commissioning phases. You will collaborate with electrical contractors, commissioning teams, client representatives, and project management, leading risk assessments, safety reporting, and continuous process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 4–6 years of direct experience managing energy safety processes (LOTO) on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience on hyperscale data center construction projects preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of high-voltage systems, energy isolation techniques, and OSHA/NFPA 70E compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs across the site.
• Manage energy isolation, de-energization, and re-energization of electrical systems.
• Issue, review, and approve LOTO permits ensuring safe energy isolation.
• Conduct regular LOTO audits and verify procedure adherence.
• Lead safety leadership and enforce regulatory requirements on site.
• Provide reports to GC and clients on energy management activities.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for energy operations.
• Investigate electrical safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate shutdowns, power-up activities, and system transitions between construction and commissioning.
