Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities for high-performing college students seeking meaningful hands-on experiences in their fields of study. Interns work with experienced professionals on Safety and Industrial Hygiene topics across refining, logistics, and environmental health areas.

Interns participate in audits, training, and compliance activities, gaining exposure to incident investigations and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Desired majors are as follows: Occupational Safety & Health; Safety Management; Public Health; Industrial Hygiene; Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability; Fire Protection & Safety; Other related fields of study.
• Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the internship experience.
• Strong academic performance.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to safely ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders, and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
• Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Available for multiple work terms is preferred.
• MIN - $24.09 per hour / MAX - $35.96 per hour

Responsibilities

• Support Health, Environmental, Safety & Security (HES&S) topics across multiple business areas.
• Assist in facility audits, employee training, industrial hygiene, and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in health, safety, and security projects and incident investigations.
