Job summary

BCG Attorney Search's client, a law firm, seeks a midlevel associate to join its Environment, Energy & Resources group in San Diego, CA. The position places you at the forefront of digital infrastructure and energy transition, with a focus on power strategies and regulatory frameworks.

Duties include negotiating power purchase agreements and energy service agreements; advising on electric market design within RTOs/ISOs; representing clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; and

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of energy law experience, with regulatory and transactional work preferred.
• Familiarity with the Federal Power Act and power market mechanics.
• Ability to draft bespoke energy contracts.
• Admission to practice or eligible for waiver in the relevant jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate power purchase agreements and energy service agreements for developers, utilities and buyers.
• Advise on electric market design within RTOs/ISOs, including capacity mechanisms and interconnection policies.
• Represent clients in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
• Counsel clients on energy policy, renewable integration, and carbon-free energy procurement strategies.
