Job summary

Sea Box, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate costs for Energy Division projects, reviewing drawings, specifications, and scopes to capture material, labor, equipment, and subcontracted costs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and vendors to develop clear estimates and support pricing decisions; a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in estimating in container/construction settings are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or coursework in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of estimating or related experience in the container industry, construction trades, manufacturing, energy, or a comparable technical environment involving evaluation of work orders, project requirements, and costs.
• Pay range: $67,308 - $87,500

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards to support accident prevention and safe operations.
• Identify cost-reduction and profitability improvement opportunities while meeting project requirements.
• Support ISO 9001 and Sea Box Quality Policy with accurate self-inspection and documentation.
• Review RFQs, specs, drawings, scopes of work, and related docs for Energy Division opportunities.
• Research materials, equipment, technologies, vendors, and solutions to meet requirements.
• Analyze blueprints to develop estimates for time, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted costs.
• Consult with customers, vendors, engineers, operations, and purchasing to clarify requirements and resolve estimating issues.
• Prepare estimates and supporting docs for pricing decisions and vendor selection.
• Evaluate changes in scope or design and update cost estimates accordingly.
• Support feasibility reviews and cost comparisons for new concepts and partnerships.
• Maintain organized, traceable estimating documentation and communicate assumptions and risks.
