Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority seeks an Energy Program Manager to advance energy management at IAD and DCA. You will advise on energy systems, procurement, and efficiency across airport operations, coordinating with maintenance, facilities, and external contractors.

The role focuses on reducing energy usage and costs while ensuring reliability and compliance, with potential involvement in grants and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible experience in specifying, commissioning, installing, and maintaining utility equipment and energy procurement.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to power generation, HVAC, water, and wastewater.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to energy management (FERC, OSHA, DOE).
• Ability to perform detailed data analyses and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes energy consumption at IAD or DCA to develop strategies for reducing usage and costs.
• Works across divisions to promote energy-efficient technologies.
• Presents procurement and operational strategies to minimize cost and improve reliability.
• Provides technical support to Utilities, Electrical Services and Equipment Maintenance for operations and repairs.
• Represents Airport Maintenance in reviews with designers, fabricators, and contractors for systems at IAD or DCA.
• Coordinates with departments and contractors to meet deadlines and budget obligations.
• Documents and reports monthly utility usage and costs, forecasting needs and budgets.
• Leads sustainability initiatives on energy use and coordinates grant opportunities.
