Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Energy and Power Discipline Leader to drive electrification initiatives and renewable energy advisory for federal, state, and local clients in the United States.

The role focuses on developing concepts, strategies, and tactical processes to integrate electrification into grid operations, with emphasis on microgrids, EVs, and distributed energy resources. Travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline; PE license.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on duties and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct development of analysis, evaluation, design, and approaches for electrification and EV fleet adoption.
• Provide electrification and renewable energy advisory and design support to nationwide clients, including financial planning and program development.
• Educate internal leaders on new policies and funding opportunities for electrification.
• Lead qualitative and quantitative analyses including financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis.
• Collaborate with researchers, vendors, and clients; mentor technical staff across levels.
• Lead webinars and promote discipline goals and initiatives.
• Support growth areas related to data centers, clean energy, and grid modernization.
