Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Arlington, VA is seeking a policy professional to represent AWS before state policymakers on energy and infrastructure policy. You will engage with Virginia SCC, PJM, legislative committees, and regulators across the PJM region to advance AWS energy priorities.

The role requires a deep understanding of energy policy, regulatory and wholesale markets, with experience shaping grid policy at state and federal levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy).
• 8+ years of public policy and advocacy experience.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Experience with energy policy and regulatory environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute advocacy strategies that support AWS energy policy priorities.
• Engage Virginia State Corporation Commission, PJM and state regulators across the eastern US.
• Identify opportunities and risks from policy and regulatory developments with stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings between AWS and senior government officials and industry partners.
• Contribute to policy submissions and engage in regulator consultations.
• Create policy collateral and support cross-functional policy efforts.
