Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking an Energy Project Manager to join our Energy Modeling group. The role focuses on high-profile sustainability projects, primarily in Massachusetts with potential national and international work, requiring 3–5 years of related experience and strong modeling and communication skills.

You will review project work, perform energy modeling using DOE 2.2 or EnergyPlus, and develop clear reports detailing energy efficiency measures for improved building performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• 3–5 years' energy modeling experience in a consulting environment.
• PE or RA accreditation is highly desirable.
• Experience with US-based energy codes (NY State/NYC) and Passive House is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of DOE 2.2 or EnergyPlus and related tools (PHPP, WUFI).
• Proficient in Excel and reporting.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with large-scale energy projects (100k–2M sq ft) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model energy consumption for high-profile energy projects using DOE 2.2 or EnergyPlus.
• Review project work and provide detailed technical feedback.
• Prepare energy reports and documentation for clients and regulators.
• Perform energy audits, benchmarking and measurement & verification.
• Develop and write reports describing energy efficiency measures.
• Quality-check outputs produced by the team and ensure accuracy.
• Support business development by identifying energy savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with clients, design partners, and internal SOCOTEC teams.
