Job summary

STV's Buildings Division is seeking an Energy Modeling Engineer to join our New York City office. This role targets a mechanical engineer with experience in whole-building energy modeling, HVAC system analysis, and energy-code compliance.

The successful candidate will independently develop and analyze building energy models while supporting HVAC design calculations, life-cycle cost analyses, and high-performance building projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Three years of energy modeling/HVAC/building-performance experience.
• Experience using IES VE to develop and analyze whole-building energy models.
• Experience with energy compliance modeling under ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, and energy codes.
• HVAC design knowledge including load calculations and equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposed and baseline whole-building energy models and perform HVAC analyses using IES VE.
• Review drawings to determine geometry, envelopes, loads, schedules, and inputs.
• Evaluate energy measures, conduct life-cycle cost analyses of alternatives.
