Job summary

CleanChoice Energy is seeking an Energy Markets Analyst to support hedging and risk management for our retail power book across PJM, NYISO, and ISONE. This role develops tools, models, and reporting while building market knowledge to grow in scope under direction.

The analyst will validate load forecasts, maintain price curves, and produce NOP/MTM reports, contributing to hedge strategies and commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline (Business, Economics, Engineering, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and communicate technical concepts to leadership.
• Proficiency in Excel and data tools (Python, VBA, SQL, Power BI).
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication under pressure.
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic setting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Validate load forecasts and support day-ahead bids, intra-month hedges, and term trades.
• Maintain wholesale and retail price curves, including implied hourly scalers and scarcity premiums.
• Develop and improve reporting and automation to enhance visibility into pricing and supply performance.
• Identify price and volume risk exposures and support hedge strategy recommendations.
• Support market research and analysis informing broader commercial decisions.
• Build, run, and maintain analytical tools, databases, and models for risk and analytics.
• Produce and reconcile daily Net Open Position (NOP) and mark-to-market (MTM) reports.
• Monitor risk metrics and report to senior leadership.
• Gain deep expertise in proprietary pricing and supply systems; contribute to new feature development.
