Job summary

Onward Energy is seeking an experienced Associate to support growth through acquisitions, financings, and development of utility-scale renewables, gas, and storage projects. You will build and maintain financial models, prepare investment memos, and coordinate due diligence with cross-functional teams.

You will participate in transactions from screening to closing, present to senior leadership, and help structure debt and tax equity financing.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in investment banking, project finance, development, or asset management in power and utilities with a focus on financial analysis.
Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Own the preparation and use of Excel based financial models for utility-scale power M&A and development activities.
Analyze investment opportunities including valuation modeling (DCF), financial statement analysis, and market research.
Develop internal memos and presentations focusing on investment returns and valuation metrics.
Present financial results and investment recommendations to senior management and owners.
Assist with raising debt and tax equity and coordinate due diligence across cross-functional teams.
Coordinate and assist with due diligence through closing, reflecting findings in financial models and analyses.
Review transaction documents for financial, operational, and valuation implications.
Provide analytical capabilities to company-wide initiatives including sales, re-contracting and portfolio projects.
Support M&A sourcing and maintain the opportunity pipeline.
