Job summary

Onward Energy is seeking an Associate in M&A to support growth through acquisitions, financings, and development of utility-scale renewables. You will build Excel models, prepare investment memos, coordinate due diligence, and present findings to senior leaders.

The role offers exposure to senior executives and a fast-paced environment within our M&A and business development platform. Requires a finance or quantitative degree and 2+ years in finance within power/utilities; proficiency in Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Economics, or other quantitative discipline; experience may substitute.
• 2+ years in investment banking, project finance, development, or asset management in power/utilities.
• Strong financial modeling skills; proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
• Analytical, detail-oriented, audit-ready analysis under tight timelines.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with US power markets; self-starter with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Own Excel-based financial models for utility-scale M&A and development activities.
• Analyze opportunities with valuation modeling, financial analysis, and market research.
• Develop investment memos and presentations focusing on returns and valuation.
• Present results and recommendations to senior management and owners.
• Assist with debt and tax equity financing; coordinate due diligence.
• Support due diligence from screening to closing across cross-functional teams.
