Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the St. Paul Park Refinery in Minnesota. The role is full-time and operates on a 12-hour rotating schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science equivalent with four college chemistry courses and two college chemistry labs is required.
• Strong analytical chemistry skills with emphasis on modern instrumental analysis (GC, UV/Vis, NIR, IC, DSR).
• Working knowledge of wet chemistry and following procedures per ASTM, AASHTO, EPA, and UOP.
• Experience with PCs and MS Office suites (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights) and hold a valid Driver's License.
• TWIC is required upon hire; LAB experience in an industrial setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Testing of refinery feedstock and intermediates for daily operations.
• Finished product testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Data interpretation and reporting.
• Apply QA/QC protocols to ensure data accuracy.
• Basic instrumentation troubleshooting.
• Perform work safely and with environmental responsibility.
