Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an experienced Energy Marshal to lead energy isolation programs for large-scale MEP systems in mission-critical datacenter environments.

You will ensure safe electrical energy isolation, coordinate with project teams, and drive risk assessments and compliance on site. Responsibilities include leading energization kick-offs, reviewing commissioning plans, and ensuring safety procedures are followed during construction, commissioning, and operation.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 10+ years of applicable experience in mission critical facilities and electrical infrastructures.
• Knowledge of MV (>1000V) and LV (<1000V) power distribution SOPs and operations.
• Ability to isolate energy sources and perform absence of voltage verifications.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and permits to ensure safe electrical energy isolation.
• Coordinate energizations/de-energizations with stakeholders and energy marshals.
• Lead pre-energization and energization kick-off meetings for first-of-kind energizations.
• Understand commissioning plans and relate them to energization of equipment.
• Develop risk assessments for energized environments and ensure safe practices.
• Oversee on-site commissioning activities for energy isolation and MEP systems.
• Coordinate access control, LOTO requests, and outage management with safety and client.
• Train staff on energy isolation procedures and LOTO competency.
• Attend daily commissioning and weekly project meetings to support operations.
