American International Group (AIG) invites applications for a Summer Intern in the Energy Underwriting team in New York. This 9‑week program blends hands‑on underwriting work with masterclasses and leadership talks, offering exposure to traditional and renewable energy risks.

You will work in‑person four days a week in NYC, supporting risk evaluation, pricing, and coverage decisions while building industry knowledge and professional networks.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast‑paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation and underwriting of risks across energy sectors.
• Review submissions, financial data, and loss history to aid risk decisions.
• Collaborate with underwriters, risk engineers, and brokers to craft tailored solutions.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business and renewals.
• Monitor industry and regulatory trends impacting clients and underwriting decisions.
• Develop energy insurance knowledge and analytical, decision-making skills.
