Job summary

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in New York seeks a dynamic Analyst in the Energy, Infrastructure, & Transition Investment Banking team. You will support M&A, capital advisory, and debt/equity financings with rigorous financial modeling and industry analysis.

You will work with MD/ED/Director level, contribute to client proposals, and develop valuation work while learning the full capital markets cycle within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.5 or above from a top-tier school.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Maturity and ability to work in a team.
• Self-starter in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical ability including valuation know-how.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing all facets of the group’s mandates.
• Conduct industry research and analysis to identify opportunities.
• Prepare client proposals, pitches, and oversee Analyst work.
• Develop and audit sophisticated financial models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within CIBC Capital Markets.
• Prepare industry and financial analyses for client recommendations.
• Lead industry comparable value and transaction precedent analyses.
• Assist in due diligence processes.
• Support senior colleagues and train Analysts.
