Job summary

CIBC, a leading North American bank, is seeking an Analyst for its Energy, Infrastructure, & Transition (EIT) team in New York. You will support M&A, capital raising, and advisory projects across power, utilities, renewables and energy transition sectors.

You will work under senior bankers, build complex financial models, and deliver client-ready analyses and presentations with a global deal team. Strong coursework in finance and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering or economics undergraduate degree.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in investment banking, corporate finance or private equity with meaningful financial modeling.
• Knowledge of power/renewables, utilities, infrastructure, midstream, and energy transition sectors is a plus.
• Strong analytical ability including valuation techniques and financial statement understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical, research, and presentation support across M&A, divestitures, financings and capital structure advisory.
• Assist in creating deal-related materials and client communications.
• Contribute to due diligence, market and company research and financial modeling.
