Metro Associates in Rochester, NY seeks a Design Engineer to support civil design for energy infrastructure, including solar, wind, electric and gas utilities, pipelines and power systems. You will work across site design, stormwater, permitting, environmental permitting, and construction while collaborating with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.

You’ll gain deeper expertise in energy infrastructure and take ownership of technical design work.

Qualifikationen

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years of civil engineering experience in energy, utilities, or land development.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with National Grid, National Fuel Gas, or other utility projects.

Aufgaben

• Design site layouts, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater, and erosion control solutions.
• Develop plans, calculations, estimates, reports, and construction documents.
• Support stormwater and environmental permitting initiatives and ensure designs comply with state and local regulations, safety codes, and industry standards.
• Lead environmental assessments and permitting efforts while collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies to secure approvals.
• Support electric, gas, and telecom utility design and Environmental Management & Construction Plans (EM&CP).
• Oversee construction progress to ensure work follows plans and safety standards.
• Participate in project planning, coordinate engineering tasks with scope, schedule, and budget, and maintain accurate project records.
• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for renewable energy, oil & gas, and utility projects while supporting internal teams with documentation, coordination, and presentations.
