Job summary

Duke Energy offers engineering internships/co-ops across multiple locations, with opportunities to work on real-world projects under seasoned engineers. You will learn about transmission, distribution, environmental health and safety, and renewable energy programs while contributing to grid improvements.

Eligible students must be enrolled in ABET-accredited programs and not graduate before August 2026, with a GPA of 2.75 or higher; prior Duke Energy internship experience is a plus, and housing

Qualifications

• Previous Duke Energy intern/co-op experience.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering software.
• Previous engineering work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to deliver quality work within deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support staff engineers on transmission, distribution, and renewable projects.
• Assist with design, analysis, and project management tasks.
• Contribute to equipment reliability studies and grid planning efforts.
