Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC seeks an Energy Engineer to advance our energy and water efficiency initiatives across campus. The role collaborates with Facilities Division units to plan, implement, and optimize engineering projects that reduce resource use while maintaining reliability and occupant comfort.

The position focuses on metering, EPC/M&V, BAS data, and portfolio-wide energy strategies, contributing to the Strategic Energy Management Plan and campus growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of BAS, metering and energy management systems.
• Ability to analyze data and propose improvements.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s license; NC driver’s license within 60 days is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Energy Data Management – oversee metering infrastructure and long-range strategies.
• EPC/M&V management to verify energy savings and reporting.
• EMAT Building Retuning and Eco-Mode Energy Savings program execution.
• Manage energy and water conservation projects and LED initiatives.
• Develop and improve energy management programs and measurement practices.
• Coordinate across campus stakeholders and departments.
