Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking an Energy Engineer to join our Anchorage office. We are looking for a self-motivated, technically strong mechanical or electrical engineer with at least four years of engineering experience who enjoys solving complex problems and collaborating across disciplines.

The successful candidate will contribute technical expertise to multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, operators, clients, and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least four years of engineering experience in mechanical, electrical, or energy discipline.
• Strong technical background with engineering calculations, analyses, and design.
• Experience preparing or reviewing drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Familiarity with energy-modeling, hydraulic-analysis, or piping-analysis software.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering or project team.
• Ability to prepare clear technical reports, engineering documents, proposals, and project execution plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technical expertise to multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, operators, clients, and stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and design for energy projects.
• Model energy systems and design power generation and electrical utility systems.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project execution plans.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors across disciplines.
