Job summary

TRC is seeking a Project Engineer IV in New Jersey to lead energy efficiency initiatives for major utility programs. You will guide stakeholders, map KPI attainment and ensure timely submittals through payment.

The role requires 5+ years in HVAC design or energy engineering, strong Excel/CRM skills, travel about 10%, and the ability to work onsite at the New Jersey office while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel to Trade Ally events ~10% within New Jersey.
• Experience with energy and/or utility industry.
• Strong communication and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, pivot tables and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; 1–5 years QA/QC, data analysis or pipeline management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on energy-efficient technologies to program stakeholders.
• Understand NJ TRM and other TRMs for energy savings methodologies.
• Evaluate program requirements to optimize energy savings.
• Communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Prepare energy savings calculations for commercial/industrial measures.
• Build relationships with architects, engineers, contractors and customers.
• Coordinate with service providers and consultants to assess needs.
• Conduct program trainings for participants and staff.
• Prepare status reports and monitor progress toward goals.
• Oversee QA activities such as inspections and surveys.
• Onboard/train new engineering staff and manage performance.
• Understand contractual KPIs and translate into metrics.
• Attend Trade Ally events & trainings.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Manage and maintain company vehicle fees.
