Job summary

New Mexico Gas Company is seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Marketer and Developer to manage and enhance energy efficiency programs, overseeing program implementation, marketing, vendor partnerships, budgeting, and regulatory reporting to advance customer value.

The role requires a bachelor's (and preferably a master's) in business-related fields, plus five years of related experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics or Accounting.
• Master’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics or Accounting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Represents Company position in regulatory proceedings and prepares testimony.
• Develops and executes marketing plans for programs or products, including scoping documents, financial analysis, market analysis, action plans, communications, promotions, distribution, training and budgeting.
• Evaluates customer and Company needs from a retail marketing perspective and creates ongoing energy efficiency marketing programs.
• Coordinates reporting and scheduled financial and/or performance reviews of current business, product, and service offerings.
• Conducts debriefing analysis and performance evaluation of products and services.
• Contributes to the development of NMGC program outreach and marketing planning.
• Coordinates market research and market assessments and determines the economic and market potential for energy efficiency programs.

This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

This position pays between $78,640.00 to $98,300.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

About this Opportunity

New Mexico Gas Company is seeking an experienced professional to manage and enhance energy efficiency programs that deliver value to our customers and communities. In this role, you will oversee program implementation, marketing, vendor partnerships, budgeting, and regulatory reporting while helping drive the success of innovative energy efficiency initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Represents Company position to parties in regulatory proceedings and prepares testimony in support of compliance filings and reporting.
• Develops and executes on marketing plans for programs or products including the preparation of scoping documents, financial analysis, market analysis, detailed action plans, communication plans, promotional plans, product distribution plans, training, and budgeting.
• Evaluates customer and Company needs from a retail marketing perspective and creates ongoing energy efficiency marketing programs.
• Coordinates reporting and scheduled financial and/or performance reviews of current business, product, and service offerings.
• Conducts debriefing analysis and performance evaluation of products and services.
• Contributes to the development of NMGC program outreach and marketing planning.
• Coordinates market research and market assessments and determines the economic and market potential for energy efficiency programs.

Successful Candidate Must Have:

• A bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics or Accounting
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Five (5) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities
• Preferences:
  • Experience in on or more of the following areas: Energy Efficiency, Demand Response, Demand Side Management and/or Energy Education
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics or Accounting

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. May be required to work overtime and weekends depending on business needs. Moderate travel required. Ability to stand or walk up to 1/3 of the time and regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. Manual dexterity is required to perform computer applications and good vision is required to perform all aspects of the job. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
