Southern Energy Management in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area is hiring a full-time Building Performance Field Technician to perform inspections, diagnostic tests, and collect field data for energy certifications such as Energy Star and LEED for Homes.

The role involves in-home assessments, testing for air and duct leakage, and coordinating with builders to meet energy efficiency goals, with a company vehicle provided and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Fast and accurate data entry.
• Ability to work outdoors and in confined spaces.
• Comfort with lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with energy efficiency concepts and codes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new residential buildings for energy features and code compliance.
• Perform diagnostic testing for air and duct leakage to assess energy performance.
• Communicate with home builders/trades to meet energy goals.
• Enter field data accurately into energy modeling software.
