PEG, LLC in Haymarket, VA, seeks a motivated individual to learn Energy Sustainability and Building Energy Performance of New Residential Construction. You will become a certified HERS Rater and conduct Home Energy Audits in accordance with RESNET guidelines, including visual inspections and data collection.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree or Vocational Certificate in the Skilled Trades Industry is required
• HERS Rater, Energy Star, Green Building, ACCA 310 HVAC Grading, IECC, HVAC EPA, BPI, and LEED Certifications are a plus!
• 2 years of work experience in HVAC, home remodeling, or construction is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform Home Energy Audits in accordance with New Construction RESNET/Energy Star Guidelines including but not limited to: Visual Inspections of applied materials and control assemblies
• Data Collection and Visual Observation of energy efficient features such as model and serial numbers, duct work, insulation, framing, air sealing, ventilation
• Utilization of equipment to test system performance such as infiltration & Blower Door Testing, Ventilation Testing, Duct Leakage Testing, Building Air Flow & Pressure Testing
• Adjustment of system settings to meet design or manufacturer specifications
• Actively develop relationships with builders and code officials through effective communication
• Prepare an electronic written report of audit findings and complete internal paperwork
• Maintain equipment in accordance with company policy and manufacturer’s specifications
• Complete all other assigned third-party inspections, as needed, within the geographical area
