Job summary

Aston Carter) is seeking a Commodity Confirmations Specialist to support end-to-end confirmations for physical and financial energy trades. You will reconcile data across systems, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure timely confirmations with brokers and counterparties.

The role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with energy trading environments, and the ability to manage a high volume of confirmations and related reporting activities; hybrid role based in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Experience with trade confirmations, preferably in energy commodities.
• Understanding of physical and financial commodity transactions and confirmations.
• Able to reconcile broker, exchange, and counterparty confirmations to a risk system.
• Proficient with email and managing a high-volume Outlook inbox.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving discrepancies.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in review of trade data.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication with internal/external teams.
• Bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with negotiation and resolution of physical and financial trade entry disputes with internal teams.
• Manage and organize the confirmations Outlook inbox daily.
• Reconcile broker confirmations to the risk management system.
• Reconcile FCM exchange trades to the risk management system and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile counterparty confirmations via eConfirm, OATI, and OASIS to the risk system.
• Support trade reporting processes with accuracy and compliance.
• Create and deliver daily internal confirmations to counterparties.
• Ensure confirmations are sent, received, and returned per procedures and timelines.
• Review and execute daily counterparty confirmations against internal records.
• Identify and correct trade discrepancies across broker, counterparty, and exchange confirmations.
• Generate and reconcile daily status reports and management queries.
• Prepare and support monthly reports related to confirmations and reconciliation.
• Maintain organized electronic filing of confirmations and related docs.
• Analyze trade updates and controls for trades from Contracts Trade conveyance processes.
• Assist with internal/external audits by providing confirmations data and explanations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve confirmations workflows.
