Job summary

Fisher Associates invites an Energy Project Engineer to lead civil design for utility and renewable energy projects in the Canonsburg, PA area. You will develop plans, drawings, specs, and cost estimates while supporting construction and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes design excellence, project ownership, and mentoring junior engineers within a collaborative, client-focused team environment. A PE or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years civil engineering experience, preferably in utility or renewable energy design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain it.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with linear utility corridor projects.
• Experience with local zoning and planning reviews, DOT permitting, and NYS Environmental Quality Reviews (SEQR).
• Understanding of civil design plan preparation and construction bid packages.
• Proven ability to deliver quality work through critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment.
• Ability to own projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deliverables and deadlines.
• Strong collaboration, communication, integrity, respect, and active listening skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond constructively to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering technical design tasks for utility and renewable energy projects.

• Prepare SWPPPs and stormwater management designs in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate engineering tasks with project scope, schedule, and budget and support project managers with schedules, documentation, and client presentations.
• Maintain accurate project records, including design documents, progress reports, and budget information.
• Ensure designs comply with state and local regulations, safety codes, and industry standards while providing quality control, direction, and technical support to project team members.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders and mentor junior engineers in project work and technical development.

What You'll Do

• Experience providing technical direction, quality control, motivation, and mentorship to project team members.

Compensation + Benefits

Salary range: $100,000-$130,000
