Starr Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Energy Casualty team with a focus on expanding our Southeast market. You will underwrite casualty lines, analyze risks, and develop tailored coverage terms for energy clients.

The role requires strong communication, relationship-building skills, and proficiency with underwriting systems to support growth and profitability across the Southeast region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degrees or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience underwriting casualty lines of coverage (Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Excess Liability).
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills; ability to assess complex risks and develop tailored solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a profitable Energy Casualty portfolio with strategic growth.
• Cultivate relationships with Southeast producers to drive new business opportunities.
• Conduct underwriting analysis to assess risks and determine coverage terms.
• Prepare and issue indications, quotations, and binders.
• Monitor the new business pipeline with timely follow-ups and conversions.
• Solicit submissions from brokers and clients to grow business.
• Provide excellent service and address client inquiries promptly.
