Tenaska is seeking an Energy Accountant to handle monthly invoicing, reporting, and customer communications. The role requires collaboration across teams to maintain accurate accounting procedures and timely financial information.

The position emphasizes Excel-based reporting, journal entries, and reconciliations, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and energy trading insights. On-site in Irving, TX with standard office hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 0-2 years of accounting experience.
• Power industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, and distributes monthly customer invoices and reports.
• Communicates with customers to ensure timely payments and issue resolution.
• Interacts with employees and management on accounting procedures and processes.
• Prepares journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Completes account reconciliations and related schedules.
• Prepares and updates management reports in spreadsheets.
• Participates in department and company process improvement and system projects.
• Develops knowledge base for wholesale electricity market and TPS energy trading/management.
