Tenaska is seeking an Energy Accountant in Irving, TX. You will handle monthly invoicing, reporting, and inquiries, while maintaining strong customer communication to secure timely payments.

You’ll prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and management reports in Excel, contributing to process improvements within a fast-paced energy trading environment. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 0-2 years of accounting experience, and a detail-oriented, analytical mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Zero to two years of accounting experience.
• Power industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
• Detail oriented with analytical mindset.
• Willingness to work extended hours when workload requires.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, and distributes monthly customer invoices and reports.
• Effectively communicates with customers to ensure timely payments and issue resolution.
• Converses with employees and management on accounting procedures and processes.
• Prepares assigned journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Completes assigned account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Prepares and updates various management reports in spreadsheets.
• Participates in process improvement and system enhancement projects.
• Develops knowledge base for wholesale electricity market and energy trading.
