Job summary

Job description

Steptoe LLP is seeking an associate with 3-5 years of experience in energy regulatory matters and/or energy-related litigation to join our Energy practice in Washington, DC, New York, or Houston.

The ideal candidate will possess stellar writing abilities and have experience in the energy industry. Candidates should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a track record of insightful research and analysis. Experience with matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is preferred, though candidates with a strong background in either regulatory or litigation matters are encouraged to apply.

Steptoe's Energy practice represents some of the nation's largest energy companies, providing leading-edge regulatory, counseling, and litigation expertise across the energy sector. Associates work on complex and high-profile matters and are given meaningful, hands-on responsibility at every stage of their careers.

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required. Admission to the bar where Steptoe has an office, active and in good standing, or the ability to waive in, is also required.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $260,000 - $365,000, depending on experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors such as relevant skills, education, and professional licenses.
