Job summary

ICF Olson is hiring a Data Scientist Intern for Summer 2027. The 10-week full-time internship can be hybrid in Reston, VA or Denver, CO or remote from any U.S. location.

The role focuses on predictive analytics for energy efficiency and load management in utilities, building scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will apply advanced statistical methods, develop code, validate results, and produce technical reports while collaborating with energy and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science or a related field plus enrollment verification or 9 credits in a Master’s program
• Master’s degree in data science or a related field preferred
• Experience with R and/or Python, statistical modeling, data manipulation, and visualization is desired

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets spanning customer behavior, energy usage, and marketing performance to identify techniques
• Develop and execute code, validate outputs, and produce technical reports
• Maintain and enhance predictive analytics models
